GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Supervisor-Cancer Registry Data and Quality, the Oncology Data Specialist-Certified (ODS-C) is responsible for:
* Managing and analyzing clinical cancer information,
* Abstracting, and reporting Data Accurately,
* Compliance with national cancer data and accreditation standards,
* Contributing to the overall improvement of cancer care quality and outcomes.
The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of:
* Oncology coding,
* Staging,
* Reporting standards
* Regulatory requirements,
* Proficiency in data analysis tools and software,
* A strong attention to detail.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
* Associate's degree required, preferably in Cancer Registry Management, health/technology, or related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Minimum three (3) years ODS/cancer registry experience preferred.
* Strong understanding and proficiency in using electronic health records and cancer registry software (i.e., CRStar).
* Prior experience with cancer accreditation (i.e., CoC, NAPBC) preferred.
* Able to thrive in a remote work environment.
* Self-motivated with critical attention to details and deadlines.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
* Oncology Data Specialist certification or certification eligible per National Cancer Registrar Association requirements.
* Certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
