GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Supervisor-Cancer Registry Data and Quality, the Oncology Data Specialist-Certified (ODS-C) is responsible for:

·       Managing and analyzing clinical cancer information,

·       Abstracting, and reporting Data Accurately,

·       Compliance with national cancer data and accreditation standards,

·       Contributing to the overall improvement of cancer care quality and outcomes.

The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of:

·       Oncology coding,

·       Staging,

·       Reporting standards

·       Regulatory requirements,

·       Proficiency in data analysis tools and software,

·       A strong attention to detail.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

·       Associate's degree required, preferably in Cancer Registry Management, health/technology, or related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

·       Minimum three (3) years ODS/cancer registry experience preferred.

·       Strong understanding and proficiency in using electronic health records and cancer registry software (i.e., CRStar).

·       Prior experience with cancer accreditation (i.e., CoC, NAPBC) preferred.

·       Able to thrive in a remote work environment.

·       Self-motivated with critical attention to details and deadlines.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

·       Oncology Data Specialist certification or certification eligible per National Cancer Registrar Association requirements.

·       Certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
