CHS has an opening for a per diem Nurse Practitioner to work in the gaming industry in a casino employee health clinic in the Lower Michigan area (New Buffalo, MI). The Nurse Practitioner will work in collaboration with a full time Registered Nurse and two Medical Assistants.
SCOPE:
Under indirect supervision, provides independent primary care in a variety of clinical settings to a specified population of non-emergency and emergency patients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Michigan Nurse Practitioner state license required.
Master’s degree required with at least 3 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner in occupational health, ambulatory or emergency department.
CPR and ACLS certifications required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs medical examinations and evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up consultation, and health education.
Business Critical: travel medications and immunizations.
Illness and Injury treatment:
Assess, treat and triage; respond to emergencies; administer allergy shots; perform blood draws; medication & personal health consults; mental health counseling and referral.
Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
Maintains basic skills in performing and assessing phlebotomy, administering injectibles and vaccines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise.
