As an Operations & Maintenance Technician IV - Plumber, you will utilize journey level skills, experience and knowledge in the practices, procedures, and methods of installing, maintaining, and repairing both general and complex plumbing and mechanical systems related to industrial, commercial and domestic water and sewer systems at a variety of facilities.

In addition, you will maintain and improve through general and advanced preventive and corrective maintenance a variety of buildings and associated plumbing/mechanical systems and appliances related to Metropolitans supporting network of housing / lodging (including commercial kitchens), office and shop structures, and inspecting and maintaining local domestic water and wastewater systems.

Work is performed indoors and outdoors under all types of conditions including extreme temperatures and often involves exposure to lead and asbestos, with minimal and at times intermittent on-site supervision. This position may act as a lead exercising technical and / or functional direction over assigned staff.

The Incentive Pay program will be setup to provide a Desert Branch Assignment Premium to qualifying employees as follows:
5% for all employees assigned to Gene Camp or Intake.
15% for all employees assigned to Hinds Pumping Plant, Eagle Mountain, or Iron Mountain.


Schedule: 4/10, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday alternating every other week to Tuesday through Friday.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:

High school diploma or certificate of high school equivalency in addition to a minimum of 6 years experience installing, maintaining and repairing plumbing systems.

OR

High school diploma or certificate of high school equivalency and attainment of journey level skills through a recognized plumber trade training program and/or applicable related experience within a industrial environment.

Experience and knowledge as demonstrated by practical application of general and advanced techniques and practices specific to the inspection, maintenance and repair of plumbing systems.


CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s):

* Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.

* Backflow Certification
* Forklift Certification
* Manlift Certification

* Respirator Certification
