Job Description

The Lead/Manager Data Scientist role will support execution of research and delivery of insights for Dynata clients around the globe. The Data Scientist will be responsible for executing, delivering, and explaining a suite of data science products and research activities to Dynata's global client base. The Data Scientist role will also be directly involved in the development of new methodologies and survey research approaches that expand our ability to service Dynata's clients. This role involves direct interaction with internal and external client stakeholders so strong written and oral communication skills are required with the ability to independently write, analyze, and present findings. The Lead/Manager role may also be expected to supervise junior staff with similar responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as statistical research advisor to internal & external stakeholders supporting Dynata's Global clients and their research needs.

  • Provide execution and delivery support for data science products and research activities.

  • Designing, managing, analyzing, and delivering high quality advanced analytics, including visualization of research findings, summary of findings with recommendations, and presentation to clients.

  • Contribute to the development of new methodologies and approaches to survey research as well as to the continual enhancement and expansion of Dynata's growing portfolio of data, research, and analytics products.

  • Supervise one or more direct reports, with responsibility for their professional growth and satisfaction, and maintaining a culture of excellence within a high performing team.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience in a data science role with evidence of success or advancement

  • Experience with survey research is helpful, especially AdTech or MarTech experience.

  • Experience managing a small team of one or more direct reports.

  • Good understanding of SQL and experience accessing data sets through databases.

  • Strong knowledge of Python (strongly preferred) and/or R with experience in a broad array of statistical and data science packages (Tidyverse dialect is preferred for the R language)

  • Experience with SPSS is a plus.

  • Very strong background in statistics and statistical hypothesis testing

  • Experience with both classical frequentist and modern MCMC based Bayesian approaches is strongly preferred (at least one is required!)

  • Strong programming skills with an understanding of basic software engineering best practices and tools including GIT.

  • Experience contributing to collaborative software development efforts.

  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, GIT,

  • Thorough understanding of regression and GLMs, clustering, and classification

  • Strong communication and presentation skills; highly motivated, self-directed, and capable of working under minimal supervision with a high level of initiative, energy, and enthusiasm for learning

  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously and work with tight deadlines while maintaining a strong client service orientation.

  • Highly proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Master's degree in relevant quantitative discipline, PhD is a plus.

  • Ability to work with clients to scope custom research projects; listening to and understanding client needs and learning agenda. Translating client needs to a robust and rigorous research design and then executing to ensure client satisfaction with clear communication with the client throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Ability to conceptualize and prototype product research that enhances Dynata's existing products and capabilities and/or expands our product suite.

The base salary range for this position in is $100K-$130K/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A discretionary incentive program may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and other benefits, dependent on full-time employment status.
