Financial Analyst

Location: Birmingham, MI - Hybrid role

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $55,000 - $70,000 (Range applies to US candidates only) + Benefits/Variable Comp/Equity - Range may vary based on experience.

ABOUT THE JOB

The Financial Analyst is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures throughout the organization's accounting cycle. Additionally, the Financial Analyst is also responsible for tracking the company's commission process for Partners, and Sales teams.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creating and maintaining reconciliations
  • Assist in amortization schedules related to commissions expense
  • Process and maintain partner commissions, ensuring accuracy including follow up on outstanding items
  • Work closely with our sales and payroll department to ensure the accuracy of information entered into the accounting systems
  • Coordinate and execute the review of monthly reporting and results to business owners
  • Lead and/ or present financial analysis and results to business owners
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
  • Investigate commission reconciling errors
  • Work closely with our sales and payroll department to ensure the accuracy of information entered into the accounting systems
  • Maintaining confidential employee records, including sales employee onboarding and offboarding related to commissions
  • Maintain local and US GAAP compliance for revenue

QUALITIES OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting, or Finance
  • 2+ years of experience in related field

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with Sage Intacct
  • Experience working with amortization schedules

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret financial information
  • Knowledge of basic financial terms, concepts and accounting principles
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to define problems, collect data and draw valid conclusions
  • ability to accurately explain/report activity in verbal and written communications
  • Utilize Insights to develop and maintain standard financial reports
  • Legally authorized to work for any company in the United States without sponsorship
