The Fixed Asset Supervisor Role

NSK Americas, Inc. is seeking a skilled Fixed Asset Supervisor to join our Finance team. This position will be responsible for overseeing the management of fixed assets within the Americas region - ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This position will involve supervising one direct employee and will have a strong emphasis on collaborating with cross-functional teams. This position will report directly to the Tax/Fixed Asset Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Fixed Asset Management
    • Maintain and update the fixed asset register for all assets in the Americas region.
    • Conduct regular physical asset verifications and reconcile with accounting records.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies related to fixed assets.
    • Assist in obtaining and maintaining fixed asset incentives.
  • Supervision and Team Management
    • Lead and supervise a team responsible for fixed asset tracking and accounting.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Collaboration
    • Collaborate with other departments, including Operations and Procurement, to gather information and ensure accurate recording of fixed assets.
  • Compliance
    • Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations related to fixed assets.
    • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements for fixed assts.
  • Process Improvement
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement in fixed asset management.
    • Implement best practices to enhance efficiencies and accuracy in asset tracking.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting
    • Generate periodic reports on fixed assets, depreciation, and capital expenditures.
    • Collaborate with the Finance team in preparing financial statements and reports related to fixed assets.
    • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the annual capital budget.
    • Present capital budget status updates to the executive leadership team.

Qualifications

  • This job requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience in fixed asset management and accounting are required.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role are preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills are required.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn are essential.
  • Ability to travel within the US up to 10% is required.
  • Experience with Oracle software is a plus.
