The highest authority in the plant responsible for the daily operations, efficiency, safety, and quality.

Responsible for all KTSV operational activities including achievement of planned financial, quality and growth objectives. Work collaboratively with Sales and Marketing to achieve targeted volume and revenue expectations and to provide quality products with a customer centric focus. Oversees and Manages Factory operations in a single-shift environment.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Create a Safety First and Always Culture and champion the safety of all employees by requiring a Safety First and Always commitment from all members of the organization at all levels of the organization when on the KTSV premises or performing official KTSV business off premises and a spirit of continuous improvement toward the ultimate goal of an incident free workplace
  • Develop long-term strategic and annual operating plans for the division
  • Establish annual goals and long-term development plans for key, senior division managers and direct reports assuring that every employee understands their role in safety as a top priority
  • Provide direction, development, leadership and coaching to key, senior division managers
  • Hold key, senior division managers accountable for good performance and established goals, addressing issues as required in a timely manner
  • Create a Servant Leadership, Performance based culture that results in consistent performance and achievement and that results in a positive workplace free from any discussion or exposure to outside organization or representation activities
  • Proactively identify and respond to unexpected changes in business conditions or in the company's markets to capitalize on new opportunities and / or respond to unexpected challenges
  • Maintains interaction and keeps open communication with associates by answering questions and explaining policies and procedures; monitors associate morale; responds to ideas to improve associate engagement.

Summary of Position Requirements:

Successful Candidate Must have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or other technical discipline.
  • Excellent (or rapidly improving) safety record at his/her facility.
  • Minimum of 10 years in a manufacturing environment with a proven record of success and increasing responsibility.
  • Experience or certification in Lean Manufacturing with the ability to demonstrate measurable successes in efficiency improvements and cost reduction.
  • Excellent Written and Oral communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects/priorities simultaneously.
  • Must be willing to live and work in the greater Detroit, MI area

Candidate's Opportunity will be enhanced if they:

  • Have manufacturing Experience with a Trailer or Truck Body Manufacturer
  • Have MBA or other financial education
