Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY: Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates with the health care team. Demonstrates clinical competence. May require a professional certification which is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard for the position, works independently and in collaboration with principal investigator when appropriate.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program within 3 years of hire
  • Completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within 5 years of hire
  • Successful completion of HFMG Pharmacology test
  • Certification will be required when it is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard, i.e., Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)
  • Maintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in area of specialty
  • Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and medical group personnel
  • Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills


CERTIFICATION/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Current Licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse
  • Current BLS or ACLS per HH Policy


PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Professional Certifications to support a culture of nursing excellence
