DevOps Engineer

As a DevOps engineer, you know how to set up cloud environments and provision computer networking, storage, and virtual networks-ultimately, how to "harness the cloud". We're looking for an experienced DevOps infrastructure engineer like you to support our clients as they modernize their IT infrastructures and meet their most challenging missions.

As a DevOps infrastructure engineer at Booz Allen, you'll work closely with cloud architects and engineers to manage server configuration for modern cloud solutions. You'll apply your skills within a DevOps framework to establish or provision virtual machines or networks and use cloud service providers to further your clients' meaningful missions.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience with DevOps or DevSecOps processes, including source code management, automation, and managing releases across environments
  • 4+ years of experience with provisioning, operations, and management of AWS infrastructure
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) platforms and configuration management tools, including Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Experience with containerization tools, including Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with automation and scripting languages, including Bash, Ansible, and Python
  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems, network administration, and networking protocols or functions, including HTTP, HTTPS, SSL/TLS, SMTP, or DNS
  • Knowledge of CI tools, including Jenkins, Tekton, CircleCI, GitlabCI, AWS CodePipeline, and GitHub Actions
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience with Linux operating system administration
  • Experience with creating and improving continuous deployment tools built on Kubernetes
  • Experience with application, network, and infrastructure performance monitoring and analysis
  • Experience with APIs and Web services, including REST and SOAP
  • Experience with embedding security best practices in the software development lifecycle, including IaC scanning, container scanning, software composition analysis, and static and dynamic security testing
  • Experience with managing and orchestrating Kubernetes deployments using Helm
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, including threats, vulnerabilities, security operations, encryption, boundary defense, auditing, authentication, and supply chain risk management
  • Kubernetes Certifications, including Certified Kubernetes Application Developer or Certified Kubernetes Administrator Certifications
  • Cloud Certifications, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer Associate or Professional, or Certifications in Cloud environments
  • Security+ CE Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
