About the Role
The General Dynamics Land Systems Summer 2024 Internship Program provides an opportunity for students looking to start or continue the transition from academia into industry. Our three-month internship assignments provide compensation based on area of study and class standing, and have the students embedded in key functional areas of our business, getting real-world experience and mentorship from seasoned professionals.As part of your summer experience, you will join our team and use your education, experience, and creativity to make an impact.
As a member of the Global Strategic Communications team, the intern will play a role in supporting the team in the creation of key social media, defense trade advertising, marketing and video campaigns for current and next generation GDLS products. The intern will be engaged in corporate internal and external communications with a high functional team with years of experience.

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this Role
  • Perform market analysis and research on the latest trends
  • Support the creation and editing of video promotional and marketing materials
  • Design and assist in creating influential and impactful social media posts
  • Prepare detailed promotional presentations
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings and ensure actions are completed in a timely manner
  • Support the team in the creation of presentations and special projects, as required
  • Assist with daily administrative duties
  • Project analysis of the GDLS Next Generation Campaign/Expanding the Brand effort. The goal of the project is to create a system for measuring the effectiveness of the companys marketing efforts and growth over a four-year period.

Qualifications Sought
  • Pursuing abachelors degree in communications, marketing, video/film production, and other related fields.
  • Attained at least a sophomorestatus based on university/college's class standing requirements at the start of the internship.
  • Preferred - GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be a U.S. Person (i.e. a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.)
  • Must successfully pass standard pre-employment screens and must provide an official college or university transcript from their school before their first day of employment.
  • Must be able to complete a minimum of a full time, 3-month assignment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.
  • Ability to evaluate a business for its weaknesses and strengths.
  • Strong business acumen with a willingness to expand their business development experience.
  • A willingness to work to meet project deadlines.
  • Good negotiation skills and ability to influence.
  • Ability to show a solution-oriented approach and to keep calm under pressure and solve problems in a timely and effective manner.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Excel at teamwork.
