Job Overview

This role will serve as the voice of our Aptiv Manufacturing/Operations across the globe to accelerate manufacturing digitalization opportunities and build synergy with Corporate & Engineering technology investments and strategy. They will represent the S&PS divisional priorities across global manufacturing sites with strong execution focus.

The Global IT Manufacturing Digitization Leader will drive execution of mfg. digitalization strategy in support of business priorities. Strategy will anchor to regional roadmaps for Mfg. operational improvements and OI targets. In addition, the leader will work closely with IT leadership teams, Mfg. Operations leaders, and Corporate Functions to drive activities which are common, automated and sustainable.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead Manufacturing Digital Transformation vision, planning, and support to project(s) execution. This will include transitioning manufacturing to a paperless factory with real time data capture and advanced utilization of data to assist with decision making.
  • Create a community of users across locations in conjunction with IT and manufacturing/operations leadership to drive strategy and roadmap.
  • Interface with Manufacturing and IT Delivery and build digital manufacturing portfolio that drives alignment to divisional mfg. strategies, future roadmaps, investment plans and program execution.
  • Own the S&PS MFG portfolio technology investment plan to support monitoring and performance planned investments.
  • Contribute to strategic discussions regarding existing and future manufacturing capabilities, build plans, technology gaps, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Understand business, mfg. locations and end-user needs; identify and prioritize new applications/technologies to be delivered to meet those needs.
  • Communicate the vision within manufacturing & IT leadership to ensure all are properly aware of vision, status, and needs.
  • Work to ensure the overall business benefits will result in improvements in overall plant efficiencies, quality, and ability to align with future needs. Evaluate near-term and long-term costs and work with IT, finance, and manufacturing site to align cost adjustments to our systems and business models.
  • Work closely with IT to integrate Corporate and Enterprise technology investments (i.e. SAP, SCM, HRIS, Infrastructure, etc.) to align with divisional mfg. digitalization strategy.
  • Partner with business leadership teams to drive execution of all digitalization programs.
  • Partner with Divisional IT MFG Lead, Enterprise Architect, and IT security to drive IT/OT standards.
  • Partner with Divisional facing and Application Services team to manage risk profile for critical manufacturing applications.
  • Set expectations with key stakeholders for delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities.
  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to develop and document manufacturing pain points or challenges.
  • Lead the go-live review meeting to present the output from the continuous delivery of automation to key stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience with experience in manufacturing, and business engagement.
  • Proven experience in Supply Chain Manufacturing, including factory value stream processes, Planning, Sourcing & Logistics
  • Proven product/project management experience, preferably in Manufacturing projects/programs, demonstrating proficiency in Solution Architecture, data architecture, software development, and GSCM operations.
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks, such as SCRUM, and the ability to coach and mentor others.
  • Awareness of capabilities in new technologies (AI, ML, IIoT, VR, AR, Big Data, etc.).
  • Ability to translate obscure and ambiguous requirements and outcomes into a clear digital product strategy, enhancing value creation for the business.
  • Experience in defining, implementing, and using shop floor IT tools (i.e., Manufacturing Execution System, Quality, ERP, PLM, MRP, EAM), Lean Principles.
  • Results-oriented and outcome-focused mindset, demonstrated through proactive evangelism of new technology, trend prediction, external focus, and influence on both business and DT.
  • Demonstrates the ability to use expertise and knowledge to challenge the "status quo," defining a more strategic approach and defending that position.
