Job Description

Barilla America, Inc. wants to recruit an Industrial Electrician within Supply Chain based in Ames, Iowa. The individual will report to the Technical Area Manager. Schedule is Monday - Friday, eight hour days.

Job Purpose: The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for the installation, operation, repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of electrical equipment within Barilla America's entire facility.

Key Accountabilities

  • Experienced installing and repairing electrical systems including 480 Vac, 120 Vac and 24 Vdc.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and diagrams.
  • Knowledge of current NEC code and perform all work in a manner that meets and follows electrical codes, blueprints, and standards.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems and make timely repairs.
  • Skilled at installing rigid and EMT conduit and cable tray.
  • Familiarity with electrical meters and testing equipment.
  • Ability to work from heights in boom and scissors lifts.
  • Capable of installing ethernet and fiber circuits.
  • Ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
  • Work and communicate well with others and effectively contribute to the working relationships within Barilla America.
  • Comply with the environmental policies and procedures at Barilla Ames facility including energy efficiency, reduce - re-use - recycle goals, reporting requirements and sustainable initiatives. Actively participate in the Spill Team, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Team and complete all tasks relating or involving any environmental aspects within the procedural guidelines. (including those issues which involve oil, chemicals, used oil as well as follow to any environmental inspections)
  • Follows ISO22000 policies and procedures, address / communicate quality and food safety issues as they occur.
  • Required to be a FSMA qualified individual, following all requirements from FSMA regulations
  • Ensure compliance and understanding for quality procedures that directly tie to food safety-PRPs, OPRPs, CCPs and FSMA requirements
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Information

  • AA degree in electrical related field or a minimum of two years of electrical experience required.
  • A general working knowledge of computers is required including Microsoft Office.
  • Prior experience with computerized maintenance systems is preferred.
