GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Leadership Development Consultant will report to the Director of Learning and Development and will be accountable for the design, development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of leadership and physician leadership programs by utilizing adult and accelerated learning methodologies.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and facilitate leadership programs including but not limited to the LEAD (Leaders Engaging, Aspiring, and Developing) programs.
  • Assess individual and organizational development needs and evaluate/measure program effectiveness.
  • Serve as an expert by consulting, coaching and identifying leadership training and physician engagement opportunities.
  • Measure effectiveness of training initiatives while communicating and working with all levels of the organization.
  • Plans & executes all activities (e.g., coach, facilitates dialogues, teaches) related to leadership development.
  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Henry Ford Health System Mission, Vision, and Core Values in behaviors, practices and decisions.
  • Provides consultative expertise in the planning and defining of leadership programs while ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and the needs of the business.
  • Measures and monitors the impact of leadership programs by gathering actionable data through multiple diagnostic techniques such as culture assessments, surveys or focus groups.
  • Administers assessments to leaders and provides debriefs, coaching and action planning support for leaders and physicians.
  • Using research-based OD tools/instruments, provides support, training and education to various levels within the organization as indicated.
  • Partners with leadership in designing, developing and implementing learning to support increased productivity and alignment with the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Researches, recommends and implements learning and development initiatives for improving the organization's leaders and physicians.
  • Coaches, mentors and provides appropriate feedback to leaders and physicians.
  • Design, coordinate and deliver leadership development courses as they relate to the organization's objectives and strategies.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Master's degree in Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of experience demonstrating success in leadership development in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience with large or complex organizations with geographically disbursed team members and clients.
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.
  • Coaching Certification, preferred.
  • Emotional and Social Competency Inventory (ESCI) certification preferred.
  • MBTI certification preferred.
  • StrengthsFinder tool experience preferred.
  • Hogan Assessment certification preferred.
  • Seeks innovative ways to deliver higher value programs and services more efficiently and effectively.
  • Possess project management skills including the ability to define project objectives, identify stakeholders and their interests, plan steps, and coordinate resources to accomplish goals and objectives in an effective and timely manner.
  • Ability to coach, mentor and provide guidance to leaders.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of organizational skills and ability to manage and complete work in an efficient and thorough manner.
  • Must be discrete and maintain the highest confidentiality with extremely sensitive data.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, consultative and relationship building skills to initiate and develop productive working partnerships with leaders and physicians.
  • Proven customer-service orientation.
  • Self-directed and capable of making commitments, setting priorities and delivering on-time results.
  • Flexibility with the ability to handle and prioritize competing and multiple tasks/projects in a timely and organized manner.
  • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Henry Ford Health System.
  • Strong interpersonal communication (oral, written and listening), presentation and facilitation skills.
