Lead Natatorium Supervisor

Cranbrook Schools is seeking a Lead Natatorium Supervisor for the Williams Natatorium. This person will assist the Natatorium Manager in providing general supervision and management. This is a part-time position working 25 hours per week. Hours and days of the week will vary.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide direction to staff.
  • Maintain and/or develop relationships with patrons.
  • Maintain and/or troubleshoot pool operation and pool chemistry balance.
  • Support the management staff.
  • Participate in the recruitment of new staff.
  • Be available for various shift times based upon facility needs, including some holidays.
  • Supervise the facility in the absence of the management staff, including supervisors and lifeguards.
  • Utilize the online workorder system when needed.
  • Provide on call duties in the absence of the management staff.
  • Participate during staff in-service training.
  • Maintain a work email account.
  • Assist in and/or oversee the setup, operation, and cleanup of the facility for all usage and events.
  • Perform cleaning duties to maintain the facility, storage areas and all operational equipment.
  • Lift/carry up to fifty pounds of chemicals used to maintain facility cleanliness and pool chemistry.
  • Monitor chemical usage in conjunction with the management staff.
  • Learn and perform minor pool maintenance.
  • Maintains attendance, punctuality, and performance standards set forth in Cranbrook's employee handbook.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises Natatorium Supervisors and Lifeguards in the absence of management staff.

Requirements:

  • Requires a High School diploma or GED and three years of aquatic experience.
  • Must have the ability to work with others as well as independently.
  • Requires current American Red Cross lifeguard, CPR, First-Aid and AED certifications.
  • Certified Pool Operator certification or experience is preferred.
  • Must have strong communication skills in order to effectively communicate with managers and co-workers.
