POSITION SUMMARY

The Web Software Engineer will create web applications using both frontend and backend technologies. This position will be responsible for the performance, compatibility, security, and accessibility of web applications.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Create software that renders user interfaces in web applications. Build server-side logic that powers client-side applications.
  • Develop and build with best practice and code excellence in mind.
  • Use JIRA to update progress and log hours.
  • Lead meetings/demos to clarify requirements and gather feedback.
  • Re-create mockups using re-usable components.
  • Break-up features into smaller releases.
  • Create and review pull requests while ensuring timely feedback.
  • Coordinate releases and merge pull requests.
  • Use Git for version control and create pull requests.
  • Validate solutions work correctly in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or 5 years of web application experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience creating responsive websites required.
  • 2+ years of experience using Vue 3 in a business website required.
  • Nuxt 3 in a business website a plus.
  • Experience in web performance optimization is preferred but not required.
  • Experience using REST APIs.
  • Experience using Git.
  • Experience using NodeJS.
  • Experience creating unit, functional, or integration tests.
  • Experience using Tailwind CSS or other utility frameworks.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is an Individual Contributor: working team member with no oversight of others and no management responsibilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position is subject to Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.

Physical Activities

This position is subject to the following physical activities: talking, hearing, the use of fingers to pick, pinch, or type.

Visual Acuity

* The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
