Job/Internship Description

Responsibilities

The Robotics R&D Team is looking for looking for a talented and motivated student intern who is majoring in engineering. Our applications are used for simulation and offline programming of industrial robots.

Our teams develop different types of robotics applications for rapid development of robot programs from the product design, accurate simulation of the robot programs and generation of the production robot programs.

We are seeking an individual with interest in robotics and mathematics.

This internship will provide experience with C++ and scripting development. You will also get experience working with mechanism modeling and industrial robot simulation.

Projects may include:

* Mathematical algorithm focused on robotics applications

* Defining strategy for testing with data variations combination.

* Literature research and proof of concepts

This is a paid 3 or 6 month (depending on your availability) internship with a flexible start date based at the DASSAULT SYSTEMES Royal Oak office. You will be expected to follow a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

* Currently enrolled in a Bachelor, Master, or PhD IN Engineering or Computer Science

* Knowledge of Kinematics and a strong aptitude in physics and trigonometry.

* Experience with C++, VB.NET, or another programming language

* Plusses:

* Experience with 3D CAD, robotics simulation software or industrial robots.

* Experience with object oriented programming and software design patterns

* Positive, self-motivated individual with high level of enthusiasm and willingness to learn and incorporate coaching and instructions into daily tasks and assignments

* Highly organization with critical attention to details

* Ability and willingness to self-teach new and advance software functions; coaching and instruction will be provided, but we want someone who goes after knowledge
