POSITION SUMMARY

  • Responsible for MPG Business planning by working with key individuals to understand and communicate:
    • Market analysis and trends affecting MPG business.
    • Future business opportunities based on customer cycle plans and available capacity.
  • Responsible for the capacity planning and manufacturing floor space analysis for all manufacturing plants.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Stay current with trends affecting MPG business model and provide analysis with recommendations.
  • Maintain Plant dashboards and provide recommendations to improve the business.
  • Maintain current capacity planning records for all MPG manufacturing locations. Work closely with Finance and Engineering to load new work taking into account Plant specific expertise.
  • Drive for optimal capacity utilization. Provide management reports highlighting capacity risks and opportunities. Emphasize and support the use of balance-out equipment.
  • Develop and maintain timelines and reports to keep management informed of the impact of simultaneous program launches at our manufacturing facilities.
  • Identify facility requirements (forecast and capability studies) necessary for manufacturing changes and growth. Track/highlight when flexible asset purchases are required.
  • Determine capital equipment requirements to support both current and future production levels.
  • Continually analyze short term and long term capacity levels (including uplift studies) and manning requirements at all manufacturing locations.
  • Develop plant layouts/expansion designs to accommodate new program changes.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies available to reduce cost and remain competitive.
  • Work in partnership with the other departments to significantly improve the tooling, equipment, and processes delivered to our plants.
  • Apply world class continuous improvement principles (VSM, Lean, 6-Sigma, Kaizen, etc.) to all new tooling, equipment & processes.
  • Promote lean manufacturing practices throughout the Midway Products Group, Inc. organization.
  • Maintain and publish various reports. (plant rankings, press capacity, floorspace, etc.)
  • Perform other essential functions as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor degree in Business related area or Engineering
  • 5-10 years relative manufacturing experience preferably in automotive metal stamping

SPECIAL SKILLS:

  • Computer literate; proficient in Excel, PowerPoint
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player, including cross functional/departmental

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal office environment
  • Normal shop environment, which includes travel to plant sites, tooling vendors & suppliers.
  • Required use of personal protection equipment; hazards and conditions typically associated with a manufacturing environment
