Overview

We are looking for a Electrical Engineer with consulting design experience in electrical power, lighting, and grounding systems for Healthcare, Education and Commercial buildings. Applicant will act as electrical team leader on selected projects, complete designs using design software, direct designers, AutoCAD and Revit operators, and act as support on other projects. Position will act as the lead on small to medium size projects and will report directly to Section Manager and report on projects with the project teams. Role will include supporting senior engineers on larger projects as well.

SSOE is looking to hire an Associate Electrical Engineer. You will have the opportunity to participate in the design of healthcare, educational and commercial facilities. There will be opportunities to participate in automotive, semiconductor, and other types of manufacturing facilities as well.

Our Electrical Engineers will be responsible for working with other lead/contributing internal and external Mechanical, Structural and Civil Engineers, Architects, design teams, clients, and Project Managers to create and problem-solve exciting designs that incorporate some of the latest design techniques, while ensuring that all specifications are met, and to ensure timely completion of projects.

Responsibilities

This position is a hybrid model that will require commuting to our Toledo, OH office 2-3 days a week.

    Provide electrical team leadership and/or support on selected projects.
  • Complete designs using design software, directing designers, with support from AutoCAD and Revit operators according to project needs.
  • Provide working knowledge of project design, construction, design software, cost, and scheduling on assigned projects.
  • Edit master specification to fit project needs.
  • Provide design fee estimation support for project proposals and change orders.
Qualifications
  • Provide working knowledge of Bachelor Degree in Engineering, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice, is required.
  • Certification as an Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) and PE tracked is a plus.
  • Minimum of five years' experience with power and lighting systems Previous experience working at a consulting firm is a plus.
  • LC Certification is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to direct junior level staff and delegate work to design team.
  • Ability to communicate with client directly and facilitate a professional relationship.
  • Ability to work with remote office team members, across various company office locations and client personnel.
  • Experience with Revit software is preferred.

Benefits:

    • Salary Range: $90,000-$115,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
