The program director of nursing provides leadership and management of all aspects of the nursing program by providing discipline-specific expertise, supervising staff and faculty members, addressing students' needs, and maintaining a required teaching load.

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

  • Maintain an annual teaching load according to Baker College's Teaching and Workload Policy
  • Schedule and staff program courses
  • Develop and revise curriculum as needed.
  • Attend campus and system program meetings.
  • Advise students and participate in new student orientations.
  • Serve as the contact for the program; organize and lead the program advisory board.
  • Believe in and support the Student First Philosophy
  • Contribute to the overall success of Baker College
  • Act as a positive role model and brand ambassador on and off campus

Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Doctorate of Science degree in Nursing preferred
  • Master of Science degree in Nursing required
  • Clinical experience in Medical/Surgical Nursing required
  • Current RN license and BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • Previous teaching experience preferred
  • Must be computer literate with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps, and the Internet
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Must have the ability to travel to clinical sites and off site system meetings
