Job Functions:

1. Service, troubleshoot, repair and overhaul engines, genset systems and their electronic and mechanical systems.
2. Lead on-site work, maintain active list of project timelines and prioritize job tasks
3. Prepare work estimates
4. Commission and operate engines and genset systems
5. Instrument genset systems and record test data
6. Inspect parts to assure conformance to specification
7. Perform field inspections of failed parts and write reports to avoid future incidents
8. Maintain engine, system and equipment log books
9. Maintain detailed records of daily activities
10. Identify and request parts and tools to perform job functions
11. Source local vendors required for field service
12. Work with product groups on product design development
13. Provide input for updates of service manuals and bulletins
14. Instruct customers in safe engine operation, shutdown procedures and troubleshooting
15. Provide technical assistance to other service personnel
16. Remain technically current
17. Maintain a clean and safe work area
18. Analyze technical data
19. Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.
20. Perform special projects as required

Qualifications:

1. Two years mechanical or technical trade school and 5 years field service with mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience; or 7 years field service experience.
2. Excellent knowledge of electronics and ability to read blue prints and electronic schematics
3. Ability to travel 60-80% on short notice international and domestic
4. Ability to lift, push, pull weights in the 20-60 lb. range
5. Ability to bend down, stand over, lay down and complete work tasks within the tight confines typical of genset enclosures and compartments and/or engine rooms for long periods of time
6. Ability to operate machine shop equipment used for fabricating test parts and equipment
7. Strong ability in the operation and troubleshooting of engines, instrumentation and electronic engine controls
8. Strong ability in the use of mechanical and electric hand tools
9. Strong ability in the use of measurement and testing tools for mechanical and electrical systems
10. Strong ability in technical language and engineering terminology
11. Strong knowledge in the principles of electronics, physics, hydraulics and pneumatics
12. Strong knowledge in the operation of internal combustion engines
13. Strong knowlege in the physical properties of fuels, coolants, lubricants and oils
14. Proficient verbal and written English communication skills
15. Good organizational skills
16. Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite

1. Experience with MTU engines and electronics
2. Experience in gaseous engine service industry
3. Experience in testing of gaseous engine components
4. Experience in rigging of weights up to 1 ton
5. Experience in report and service letter writing
6. Bi-lingual in Spanish
