Huntsman currently has an immediate opening for a dynamic individual with proven capability as a Quality Manager / QC Supervisor for our Advanced Materials Division located at our East Lansing, Michigan site. This position will report to the Plant Manager

As the Quality Manager you will:

  • Responsible for the Quality Management systems.
  • Select, train and develop lab staff
  • Run department efficiently by scheduling and managing overtime, ensuring production coverage.
  • Execute and maintain the quality module.
  • Create and maintain Quality procedures and provide training.
  • Interface with production, technical and customer service
  • Responsible for all material returns and deciding disposition of returns.
  • Responsible for customer complaints, including resolution and corrective action.
  • Responsible for all non-conforming material
  • Perform daily laboratory testing.
  • Manufacturing Performance Reporting monthly - SQC for products
  • Commitment to Safety
  • Ensure lab proficiency in all procedures
  • Communicate with customers as needed
  • Comply with all company policies
  • Assist with ISO 9001 compliance
  • Manages all customer quality audits and internal audits
  • Track action items to closure
  • IMS management and actively participate in Management reviews, communications, and trainings
  • Other assigned responsibilities

General Responsibilities:

  • Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
  • Assists other employees in accomplishment of Huntsman company goals.
  • Participates in and completes company-required training programs.
  • Participates in Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.

Required Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field with 3+ years' experience.

Special Qualifications (Training, Technical skills, etc.):

  • Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality standards required.
  • Experience with TS 16949 Automotive Quality standard and it's requirements, i.e. APQP/PPAP warrant submission ( FMEA design and production, process flowcharts, control plans, etc.).
  • Experience with customers and Quality audits needed.
  • Must have SAP knowledge. Requires Quality module set up in SAP for new products.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and problem solving skills.
