Job Description

Position Title: MRS Engineering Technician

Department: Product Test Department (Engineering)

Location: Monroe, Michigan

Position Summary

Technician required to support our ride kit lab, along with standard testing and new test development on Ride Control products. Duties will consist of ordering and organizing ride kit components, setting up and performing laboratory tests, fixture design, fabrication support, set-up of data acquisition equipment for performance and NVH, data analysis, and technical report writing.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work within the ride kit lab, maintaining a high level of organization and efficiency.
  • Perform standard and development testing to quantify ride control product performance on components and modules in the test labs.
  • Support product development by executing a test activity plan, collecting data on ride control products, analyzing the data and generating technical reports.
  • Create and maintain vehicle and damper documentation.
  • Interact with and support Product Engineering personnel in test set-up, data collection and reporting results.
  • Participate on problem solving teams.
  • Support and adhere to Tenneco EH&S policies and procedures.

Required Skills

  • Ability to communicate and work well with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • High proficiency computer knowledge in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
  • Knowledge of MTS Servo-Hydraulic systems and controllers.
  • Must display a high mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be flexible and tolerant of multiple and changing priorities.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform light repairs on test equipment.
  • Must be able to function in a team setting.
