Position: Sub-Assembly
Location: Brighton, MI

Position Overview: Assemble both ETA and Patented Rail details and related material per shop order and print specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Reads shop orders and blueprints to determine assembly needs.
  • Assemble End Trucks, Trolleys, End Stops and related material per shop order and print specifications.
  • Label required items with proper information as required on shop order.
  • Check all assembles for dimensional accuracy.
  • Inspect material per shop order and prints.
  • Fill out inspection sheets.
  • Operate drill press, pump cart, fork trucks as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities:
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret shop orders, blueprints, and technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers including purchasing, sales, and shop leaders.
  • Mathematical Skills: Proficient with basic mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts used in production and inventory. Must be able to add and subtract fractions in conjunction with a tape measure.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concept variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of Windows-based software and cad.
  • Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear; frequently required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle or feel; Occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms and climb or balance; Must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Appropriate product and process knowledge, Lean and Team experiences, and desire to achieve results.
  • Individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Comply with company rules, policies, and safety/environmental regulations.
