As a member of the EHS team, the EHS US Seating Regional Manager will be responsible for analyzing trends and providing guidance and technical advice and lead in implementing solutions in the area of safety, environmental, sustainability and ergonomics. The Regional Manager will ensure employees are provided a safe working environment and also environmental requirements are in place to protect the environment and keep facilities are in compliance with all applicable EHS requirements.

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to working with site EHS leaders to:

  • Ensure emergency response planning and execution occurs as required
  • Perform routine walk-thru of production and logistics area looking for hazards
  • Ensure achievement of leading indicator targets
  • Lead execution of plans to achieve lagging indicator targets
  • Partner with production members and plant leaders
  • Ensure incident reporting continues as standard work instructions directs
  • Assist on Workers Compensation claims/questions from sites
  • Respond to requests by plant managers and partners to close issues
  • Respond to requests by corporate and regional leaders
  • Respond to requests by union leaders

Your Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree (Environmental, Chemical, Safety or Ergonomic Engineering); Minimum 7 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing based field
  • Progressive multi-site experience within a global manufacturing organization
  • Understanding of Federal and State environmental and safety laws and regulations. Working experience and strong knowledge of regulatory environmental and safety requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strategic and tactical thinker with strong presentation skills and ability to influence others
  • Experience working independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to wear "One Lear" Hat, think strategically and work cross functionally
  • Proactive leader with ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point
  • Excellent human relations skills

Bonus If You Have:

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Languages Skills such as Spanish or Portuguese
