Business Unit Risk Analyst I
The Business Unit Risk Analyst I position is responsible for ensuring the business unit is following processes and procedures to mitigate risk. This includes ensuring compliance internal policies and procedures across the business unit. This position also focuses on the analysis of the business unit's operational risk management and the development of control recommendations. The individual will provide regular reporting to management reflecting trends, strengths, and weaknesses in order to act as the first line of defense against operational risk.
Position Responsibilities:
Control Testing
  • Perform assessments of operations that support the business line and report results.
  • Conduct periodic testing to ensure policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Maintain documentation of self-tests, audits, reviews, findings, and ratings.
Policies, Processes, and Procedures
  • Interpret policies and procedures in order to determine risk.
  • Document instances where policies and procedures were not followed and escalate as appropriate.
  • Answer policy and procedure questions from the business unit.
Committees and Special Projects
  • Participate in small to medium sized projects ensuring operational risks are addressed.
  • Represent the business on committees as assigned.
Training
  • Identify training enhancements based on the results of self-assessments.
  • Develop training as required.

Position Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or 6 years Technology or Risk experience
  • 5 years of Banking / Finance experience
  • 2 years of experience developing, implementing, or executing internal controls, policies, and procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 years of commercial underwriting, credit and/or lending experience
  • 2 years of experience with financial, regulatory, and audit issues
