NTN is one of the world's premier bearing manufacturers serving the automotive and industrial markets for over 100 years. We are seeking a Procurement Analyst for our Strategic Sourcing Team. This role will be in our Farmington Hills, Michigan office and have a hybrid work schedule that will be effectively working in the office 2 days per week and work from home 3 days per week. Up to the first 90 days the position may be in office more frequently to ensure a smooth transition into the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare analysis, presentations, regular progress updating of procurement strategies for respective commodities across regional and global suppliers.
  • Assists Strategic Sourcing Manager with development of regional and global strategic supply base strategies that lead to lowest total cost for quality, lead time, delivery and unit price.
  • Take point on coordination and liaison efforts for environmental/social/government ("ESG") initiatives with NTN Americas and NTN ESG and Carbon Neutrality teams.
  • Manage the ESG compliance efforts and survey completion for customers and key suppliers.
  • Work with internal stakeholders of cross-functional teams: Production, engineering, quality, sales etc.) to perform rationalization analysis of identified direct materials.
  • Develop analytical reports which present data on cost and quality metrics of NTN supply base.
  • Provide support analytics for cost reduction opportunities and negotiation projects.
  • Prepare economic savings forecasts and performance tracking.
  • Perform benchmarking and market test pricing with alternative sourcing options (analysis of supplier quality/delivery performance, capacity management, etc.)
  • Support supplier development team through participation executive reviews with low performing suppliers and maintaining supplier performance scorecards.
  • Draft RFQs and submit to suppliers; receive and document submitted quotations.
  • Issue and circulate NDA's with new suppliers
  • Work with internal NTN departments to implement price change files when applicable and resolve price discrepancies related to invoices as needed.
  • Communicate with customers regarding product changes; Follow up to obtain feedback and documented results.
  • Adheres to NTN Americas Region and Global Code of Conduct

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with direct/indirect sourcing.
  • Tier 1/Tier2 automotive or precision industrial machined components preferred.
  • Capabilities with MS Access and ERP Systems (JDE or SAP)
  • Familiarity with ISO quality systems; Supply Chain Management Certifications a plus.
  • Demonstrated written and interpersonal communication skills, including organization of presentations and experience in presenting updates in business team meetings.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in engineering, sales, and operations.
  • 25% travel to manufacturing plants in Illinois and Indiana (within a 5 hour drive).
  • Training or exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Process Mapping skills a definite plus.
  • Financial and product costing knowledge a definite plus.
  • B.S. Degree or offsetting professional experience required.
