SUMMARY

The 2nd Shift Supervisor is responsible for receiving, storing, packaging, processing and distribution of materials. Schedule work orders, tools, equipment, maintenance, and personnel needed to meet customer requirements and management objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Determine the production schedules based on customer order requirements.
  • Establish most efficient way to schedule employees and equipment to meet production requirements.
  • Transport material and goods from receiving, storage, or production areas to various processing, shipping and storage locations.
  • Organize storage and processing areas to make most efficient use of space and handling requirements.
  • Supervise employees to make certain production objectives are met.
  • Train personnel on system, equipment and procedures.
  • Hold employees accountable to follow operating procedures.
  • Follow ISO 9001-2000 procedures and processes.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by overseeing employees to make certain MIOSHA, safety rules and regulations are followed.
  • Wear proper PPE at all times.
  • Maintain inventory control of work-in-progress and stored material.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School or G.E.D.

Prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing and distribution environment.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Technical School and/or related technical training.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to present information and instruction through verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to analyze problems and determine corrective action plans.
  • Ability to motivate employees to perform effectively.
  • Knowledge of various machine and capacity to learn the operation and ability to instruct personnel on the operation of equipment.
  • Ability to use precision instruments including calipers, and instruct others in the use of such equipment.
  • Ability to set daily schedule and work with little supervision.
  • Must be able to drive and be licensed for fork truck operation, be knowledgeable of the safety rules applied to its operation, and be able to train employees in fork truck use.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Lifts, moves, or positions materials weighing up to 50lbs.
