Job Summary
Fishbeck is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Hydrogeologist to assist with environmental investigation and remediation projects. You will join a team of passionate professionals tasked with the investigation and remediation of contaminated sites. This position requires self-motivation, commitment to high-quality work performance, excellent planning and communication skills, and the ability to work safely and independently and with other staff in a project team environment.
Primary Functions
  • Groundwater monitoring.
  • Drilling oversight and soil sampling.
  • Air monitoring.
  • Demolition and decommissioning.
  • Subcontractor oversight.
  • Assist in the design and interpretation of site investigations of contaminated media (soil, groundwater, surface water, soil gas, indoor air, and/or sediment).
  • Assist in preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, and proposals.
  • Commitment to safety and learning.
Minimum Physical Requirements
Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors. Ability to conduct fieldwork, at times for long hours or under strenuous conditions. Moderate lifting, carrying, and hiking through uneven terrain and construction or drilling sites. Will also have some office working conditions and be required to sit and use a computer. Must be able to drive vehicle to project sites. Visual acuity and physical strength and endurance necessary to perform responsibilities.
Desired Education/Licensure
Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or related field.
Desired Skills/Experience
  • 2+ years of field experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Organized self-starter, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Sensitivity to quality and schedule expectations.
  • Able to work in a team setting and communicate effectively.
  • Committed to customer service and worker health and safety.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office-based software programs.
