Primary Responsibilities

The Instrumentation & Controls EIT/Coordinator position includes engineering tasks with varying levels of complexity, which are assigned by a Project Engineer or Project Manager. The EIT may work independently on small tasks and may assist senior engineers on larger, more complex projects. Other tasks may include:

  • Check manufacture's drawings performing engineering calculations.
  • Work on design layouts verifying code compliance quality checks meeting project schedules and budget as well as coordination of work with other disciplines as required.
  • Typical design work would deal with power distribution, motor control, lighting, power system analysis and grounding.
  • Depending on project size job may require supervision of designer and CAD operators. Projects include power industrial and institutional facilities.
  • Must be able to work among other disciplines and have good communication analytical and organizational skills.
  • Candidate must also display attention to accuracy and be detail orientated.
  • Participate in field reviews or construction observation.
  • Familiarity with Piping and Instrument Diagrams, having professional work experience
  • Some travel may be involved
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field is required.
  • EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
  • Power system analysis software (ETAP, SKM, Easypower) experience desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is also required.
  • Attention to accuracy, detail orientated, self-directed learning, meeting deadlines, and multi-tasking are required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm preferred.
  • 3.0+ GPA
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required
  • EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
  • Preference given to local candidates
