Job/Internship Description

JOB PURPOSE

Feed Mill Interns will learn about feed mill management. Interns will interact and work with each team and will also be given a project to work on throughout the summer. The training period will be 10 weeks and will take place in Guymon, OK.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

  • Rotate through each area of the mill (scale house, receiving, control room, dispatch, inventory, clerical, feed accounting, feed ordering, etc.) to gain knowledge of each department.
  • Understand the flow of all materials, incoming and out-going, and the standard operating procedures of all areas of the feed mill.
  • Operate all areas of the feed mill and completely understand automation system.
  • Meet production targets and maintain quality control as well as upkeep, and sanitation of property, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Maintain collaborative working relationship with supervisors, peers, subordinates, internal and external customers.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently enrolled in a two-year or four-year college
  • Coursework or experience in feed milling or manufacturing.
  • Feed science degree or feed mill, grain elevator or related work experience preferred but not required.
  • Good critical thinking and judgement skills to reach the best possible solution to a problem.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people such as employees, managers, and senior management.
  • Flexible and able to work on assigned weekends (Saturday/Sunday)
