Job/Internship Description

JOB PURPOSE

As a Sales Intern you will gain knowledge and training with a 10 t Week training program with Seaboard Foods' sales channels, including food service, processor, retail, and export sales. Part of the Sales Intern program will be learning products, processing plant operations & logistics. RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

  • Understanding each sales channel: retail, processor, food service and export
  • Orientation and connected food system overview, with exposure and understanding of core areas of the business, including support departments
  • Interns may be asked to work in various areas and locations in production, processing, or support areas, as needed throughout the training period
  • Learn product differences for the separate sales channels
  • Build foundational knowledge base of vertically integrated agri-business with the ability to identify opportunities within the value chain.
  • Complete a department-based project as assigned by your supervisor and present findings to management.

  • Updating & enhancing training manual

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least a junior majoring in agribusiness, Meat Science, Agriculture Business, Operations or Management, Animal Science, or another related field with a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Must demonstrate computer skills with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Must be detailed-oriented, action oriented and have ability to prioritize multiple tasks proactively and effectively
  • Ability to effectively communicate with contributors at all levels within an organization
  • Available for 10 to 12 weeks of your summer
