Sr Operations Finance Analyst

HYBRID / Ann Arbor, MI

Position Overview:

This position will be a dynamic role to help drive cost improvements through the plants, develop/manage strategies around CAPEX, R&M, etc, and align Operations strategies at the North America level. There is a need for in-depth root cause analysis/commentary as well as ownership and accountability to drive sustained EBIT improvement. This is an active data enthusiast role who brings robust financial analysis, customer service focus, and strong direct/indirect leadership skills. This role will report to the Sr Manager of Operations Analytics and will work closely with 25+ plants across North America and will have broad exposure to VPs/Directors/Managers within the Operations and Finance teams.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ability to develop and drive initiatives that close the gap between Operations metrics and EBIT outcomes
    • What does 1% increase/decrease in KPIs drive in EBIT?
    • Identify P&L line-item projects and drive with plants
  • Monthly/Quarterly reporting packs for executive leadership
  • Will not be part of the month-end close process, journal entries, etc
  • Provide adhoc financial information, analysis, and support to various stakeholders
  • Develop and own the business case for operations/supply chain driven CAPEX
  • Participate in the annual budget and strategic plan processes for Capital and Repair/Maintenance
  • Develop cost to produce, product mix, labor planning, inventory, and variance analysis tracking/reporting
  • Productivity, cost improvements, and CI project development and tracking
  • Conduit for new business development requests into the plants
  • Quantify raw material complexity
  • FCA/Standards analysis
  • Identify data inaccuracies and work with teams to improve processes for better data quality
  • Manage multiple competing priorities through effective organization and communication

Skills Required / Key Success Factors:

  • Extensive financial management with broad background in financial reporting and operations finance
  • 6+ years of progressively increasing responsibility in a financial management role
  • 2+ years plant controller experience
  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance required; MBA and/or CMA/CPA preferred
  • Strong leadership skills and integrity
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts and influence outcomes, at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to influence as well as partner with the business and across functional lines
  • Strong systems skills / aptitude (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, BPC, BW)
  • Travel: up to 25%
