Supply Chain Planner

Manchester, MI

Position Overview:

The Supply Chain Planner position is a key member of the Supply Chain Team and is responsible for supply planning across multiple Amcor Rigid PackagingNorth America manufacturing sites. This position will primarily be responsible for the coordinating, accuracy, and timely delivery of our rolling short-term planning process. The person in this position will need to be an effective communicator and have command of the necessary information to lead the resolution of supply related issues and elevate to cross functional stakeholders as needed.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for day to day production planning across North Americanmanufacturing facilities.
  • Works with plants, commercial groups and customers to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Collaborates with all parties to resolve multi-plant supply issues.
  • Demonstrates strong command of supply issues and escalates when required to leadership.
  • Provides analytical support for determining short and long-term capacity.
  • Develops and presents customer-specific supply plans to customer teams and commits capacity in line with production plans.
  • Supports the Supply Chain monthly production planning process and is a power user for current and future plant scheduling models.
  • Develops capacity plans for new business opportunities and participates in the cross-functional Business Development Review process.
  • Supports and justifies optimized solutions for production planning that reduce future costs related to both logistics and operational efficiencies.
  • Works with key stakeholders to develop and ensure compliance to inventory targets, communicating deviations and engaging in problem solving solutions where necessary.
  • Assists in production planning for other areas of Supply Chain as required.
  • Active participant in cross functional projects or coordination teams.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree inSupply Chain, Finance, Operations, Logistics, or similar field
  • 3+ years of experience planning multi plant manufacturing operation
  • APICS or other Supply Chain related certification is preferred
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in rough cut capacity planning, finite production and inventory planning
  • Experience with ERP and Business Intelligence Software
  • Working knowledge of SupplyPlanning principles including but not limited to production scheduling, inventory management, material requirements planning, capacity requirements planning, and product life cycle management
  • Ability to communicate the results of analytic work and plans verbally and in written form is required
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Preferred experience in Supply Chain Planning and exposure to project management as a project team member
  • Demonstrated positive approach to problem solving and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks and commitments simultaneously.
  • Travel 5%
