At Amcor Rigid Packaging (ARP), our teams are focused on developing and making plastic bottles and jars that create a unique experience and are better for the environment. Regional Account Manager - RBU

Central US or

Dallas, TX

Position Overview:

Working for the Regional Business Unit, Beverage, this position will manage a defined Central US multi-state territory. The individual is responsible for pursuing new accounts - hunting (65% of time) and growing with assigned regional customers (35% of time). The primary focus is to drive profitable growth with customers and prospects.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Major focus on prospecting within defined territory, resulting in new business. Prospects will be provided, but expectation is that this individual will generate prospects. Having a book of business is a plus.
  • Sales/business management of assigned accounts, assuring growth within this business base.
  • Ability to represent Amcor during contract negotiations by developing strategies and value propositions.
  • Management of internal/external issues for customer base assuring customer satisfaction and protecting current sales volume.
  • Monitor current contract compliance and, when needed, negotiate renewals.
  • Professionally represent Amcor Rigid Plastics at trade shows and customer sponsored events.
  • Co-ordinate and communicate pricing changes, assure AR compliance with customers, provide forecasting, interact with and support manufacturing facilities with customer service including issue resolution if supply or quality issues develop.
  • Use Salesforce.com per company requirements for weekly/monthly reporting of prospecting, new business opportunities, project status, and sales opportunities/pipeline.
  • Must have experience with SAP, BW, CPAF, and PMDB.
  • Execute projects and duties as requested.

Key Success Factors/Attributes:

  • High energy level with strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivator driven to win, aggressive in bringing projects to a conclusion.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally throughout the organization (i.e., with Supply Chain, Finance, R&D, Manufacturing)
  • Previous exposure to manufacturing processes and technical knowledge within the plastics industry would be an asset
  • Strong communications skills (written, spoken, presentation, listening)
  • Experience with office software such as Lotus Notes, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Located in Texas or a major city in the central US.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree inBusiness or related field
  • IT proficiency with a strong use of Microsoft Office products
  • At least 5 years of outside sales with a knowledge of the beverage market
  • At least 5 years-experience in the packaging industry
  • Must have references within the consumers goods industry
  • Relevant experience with creative development and/or brand stewardship
